In Orditure, la nuova mostra di Laura Angela Gelsomini (Brescia, 2001), Federica Gottardello (Brescia, 2000) e Davide Nitti (Bari, 1997), curata da WAC – giovanissimo collettivo per l’arte (Trento, 2023), si intrecciano pratiche artistiche differenti e riflessioni sulla connessione e la fragilità dei legami che costruiamo, simbolici e reali. Il filo è indagato come metafora e materiale di costruzione, ricucendo mondi in un reticolo di relazioni collettive.

Orditure è il frutto di una collaborazione tra artist* ancora studenti e curator* emergenti, innescata da Giorgia Lucchi Boccanera.

La mostra esplora le connessioni, ma anche le separazioni, tra corpo, spazio e relazioni sociali. L’approccio curatoriale si fonda sull’idea che l’arte, oltre a essere un linguaggio, sia un atto che connette e disconnette, costruisce e destruttura, sia a livello formale che concettuale. Le opere esposte in Orditure invitano lo spettatore a riflettere sul processo di costruzione dei legami, che avvengono sia a livello corporeo che a livello sociale. La connessione tra individuo e spazio, tra corpo e materiale, tra artista e pubblico, tra uomo e natura, viene messa in crisi e trasformata in un atto creativo che non può prescindere dalle dinamiche di potere, consumo e relazione. In un mondo che si muove tra il desiderio di connessione e la paura della solitudine, queste opere interrogano le strutture che tessiamo intorno a noi e la loro capacità di resistere nel tempo.

Orditure è una mostra che non solo esprime l’intensità e la potenza delle relazioni, ma ne evidenzia anche la necessità di costante manutenzione. Il filo che unisce i corpi, i materiali e gli spazi è il simbolo di un continuo processo di ricerca e costruzione, ma anche di rottura e riflessione. La galleria, come luogo di produzione culturale, diventa un ambiente vivo, pulsante, dove il confronto tra l’artista e lo spettatore diventa un atto di intima connessione, ma anche di distacco e separazione. La sua funzione non è solo quella di esporre l’opera, ma di prendere parte alla creazione di significato, di diventare essa stessa parte della trama che si sviluppa nella mente e nel corpo di chi vi accede.

Con Orditure, WAC cerca di porre delle domande sul presente, e in particolare come le relazioni e i legami, siano essi fisici, sociali o culturali, si formano e si deformano. La mostra è un invito a percorrere i fili che ci uniscono, ma anche quelli che ci separano. Un’opportunità di riflessione su come ogni “intreccio” è, allo stesso tempo, un atto di creazione e distruzione, di protezione e di liberazione.

Laura Angela Gelsomini propone l’opera Filaticcio, incentrata sulla ricostruzione di un bozzolo, simbolo di rifugio e protezione, ma anche di trasformazione. Il bozzolo, ricucite le sue due metà, è nuovamente pronto a ospitare la metamorfosi. La spaccatura, ora riconnessa, viene evidenziata dal filo blu da sutura, elemento che unisce e ripara. Il bozzolo può così divenire simbolo di riconnessione, metafora di relazioni che si intrecciano, si ricompongono e si rafforzano nel tempo. L’opera, inoltre, rimanda alla dinamica uomo-natura: il filaticcio rappresenta infatti la seta ricavata da un bozzolo sfarfallato che, con l’intervento umano dell’artista, viene ora ricomposto. La scelta del blu plastico per evidenziare il ricongiungimento, e l’uso del ferro per costruire una struttura minimale, rimandano alla tensione tra la protezione e la fragilità, la sicurezza e l’incertezza.

Federica Gottardello esplora la delicatezza delle connessioni attraverso una riflessione sulla figura del pavone: lo strascico, composto da occhi, simbolizza la molteplicità degli sguardi nelle relazioni. L’opera Cent’occhi è composta da una lunga coda di pavone che si estende nello spazio e diventa un atto di partecipazione attiva all’ambiente circostante, rendendo lo spettatore connesso a un processo di osservazione, apparenza e costruzione del sé. Il pavone, simbolo di vanità, ma anche di bellezza fragile e complessa, diventa l’emblema di una relazione che si costruisce attraverso il tempo, con pazienza e cura, ma che è sempre effimera e potenzialmente soggetta alla disgregazione. Il filo, in questo caso, è sia medium che messaggio: un atto di tessitura che, nella sua perfezione, racchiude la precarietà di ogni legame umano. Per Orditure l’opera viene integrata da Cent’occhi – osservano: occhi sparsi nella sala espositiva, discreti o indiscreti, che osservano da diverse angolazioni, tessendo un ambiente di sguardi incrociati, di orditure immaginarie, dalle quali nasce un dialogo con l’ambiente e con gli altri artisti, le altre opere e il pubblico.

Davide Nitti, in Dodici connessioni, indaga la relazione spazio-corpo attraverso la performance, che assume il significato di una riflessione critica sul ruolo del consumo nella formazione e nella ricerca artistica. Nella sua opera, i fili vengono creati a partire dagli scontrini fiscali da lui conservati negli anni, simbolo di un’esperienza quotidiana di consumo e necessità di mantenimento dell’artista.
Dà così vita a una rete che avvolge il corpo e lo connette al “corpo” della galleria, alle sue pareti. La performance analizza i concetti di “sostegno” e “costrizione”, rivelando come le strutture artistico-culturali che accolgono e affiancano artiste e artisti possano sia favorire che limitare la libertà dell’individuo. Il corpo diviene parte di un intreccio che coinvolge anche galleristi, curatori e altri artisti, tutti protagonisti nell’atto di creazione del legame fisico e metaforico con lo spazio espositivo.



Laura Angela Gelsomini nasce in Valle Trompia (Brescia) nel 2001, dove attualmente vive e lavora. L’artista ha conseguito la laurea di I livello in Scultura presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona e, al momento, è iscritta ad un corso magistrale in Criminologia presso Euroinnova. Si segnala la mostra personale Quando la parola viene a mancare, a cura di Numa Contemporary, a novembre 2024.

Federica Gottardello nasce a Brescia nel 2000. Attualmente vive e studia a Venezia. L’artista ha conseguito la laurea di I livello in Pittura presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia nel 2022 ed è in procinto di ottenere il titolo di II livello presso la medesima Accademia. Si segnalano i terzi premi alla 106ma e 105ma Collettiva Giovani Artisti della Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa. A ottobre 2024 espone alla mostra Comunità di Saperi del Premio Nazionale delle Arti di Catania.

Davide Nitti nasce a Bari nel 1997. Attualmente vive e studia a Torino. L’artista ha conseguito la laurea di I livello in Scultura presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona e sta proseguendo gli studi, sempre in Scultura, presso l’Accademia Albertina di Torino. Tra le mostre a cui ha partecipato nell’ultimo anno si segnalano TAZ – temporary artistic zone, in un palazzo abbandonato in prossimità del Cimitero Monumentale di Torino, e l’azione collettiva Lettera d’artista per demilitarizzare il mondo con la R(e)o Dada Crew.

WAC – collettivo per l’arte è un collettivo di curator* emergent* che nasce a Trento nel 2023 con il desiderio di offrire uno spazio di espressione e riflessione nella scena artistica contemporanea. WAC si fonda su principi di unione, rispetto e scambio di idee che permettono ad un gruppo eterogeneo per formazione ed inclinazione di giungere ad un confronto proficuo e generativo, con l’obiettivo di proporsi come punto di incontro e scambio tra pratiche artistiche differenziate, promuovendo artist* giovani ed emergenti che desiderano dare voce a linguaggi contemporanei, capaci di mettere in discussione e innovare il panorama dell’arte visiva. Il collettivo è composto da: Davide Berteotti (Trento, 1999: produzione, logistica, revisione testi), Alessia Frerotti (Trento, 2000: relazioni con artist*), Caterina Invernizzi (Bergamo, 2001: stesura testi), Stefania Pace (Trento, 1994: comunicazione), Chiara Silvestrini (San Severino Marche, 1999: attività didattiche, mediazione culturale ed allestimento), Francesca Weber (Trento, 2000: allestimento, revisione testi) e Aurora Zampedri (Trento, 2003: allestimento). WAC – collettivo per l’arte è affiliato a Studio Sibilla di Civitanova Marche per la grafica dei progetti.

In Orditure, the new exhibition by Laura Angela Gelsomini (Brescia, 2001), Federica Gottardello (Brescia, 2000), and Davide Nitti (Bari, 1997), curated by WAC – a very young collective for the arts (Trento, 2023), different artistic practices intertwine with reflections on the connection and fragility of the bonds we create, both symbolic and real. The thread is explored as a metaphor and construction material, stitching together worlds into a network of collective relationships.

Orditure is the result of a collaboration between artists who are still studing and curators, initiated by Giorgia Lucchi Boccanera.

The exhibition explores connections, but also separations, between body, space, and social relations. The curatorial approach is based on the idea that art, in addition to being a language, is an act that connects and disconnects, constructs and deconstructs, both on a formal and conceptual level. The works exhibited in Orditure invite the viewer to reflect on the process of building connections, which occur at both the bodily and social levels. The connection between the individual and space, between body and material, between artist and audience, between human beings and nature, is challenged and transformed into a creative act that cannot disregard the dynamics of power, consumption, and relationships. In a world that moves between the desire for connection and the fear of loneliness, these works question the structures we weave around us and their ability to endure over time.

Orditure is an exhibition that not only expresses the intensity and power of relationships, but also highlights their need for constant maintenance. The thread that unites bodies, materials, and spaces is a symbol of a continuous process of research and construction, but also of rupture and reflection. The gallery, as a place of cultural production, becomes a living, pulsating environment where the confrontation between the artist and the viewer becomes an act of intimate connection, but also of detachment and separation. Its function is not only to display the work but to take part in the creation of meaning, the gallery itself becomes part of the plot that develops in the mind and body of those who access it.

With Orditure, WAC seeks to ask questions about the present, and in particular how relationships and ties, whether physical, social, or cultural, are formed and deformed. The exhibition is an invitation to walk through the threads that unite us, but also those that separate us. An opportunity to reflect on how every “entanglement” is, at the same time, an act of creation and destruction, of protection and liberation.

Laura Angela Gelsomini proposes the work Filaticcio, centered on the reconstruction of a cocoon, a symbol of shelter and protection, but also of transformation. The cocoon, stitched up in two halves, is once again ready to host metamorphosis. The reconnected split is highlighted by the blue suture thread, an element that unites and repairs. The cocoon can thus become a symbol of reconnection, a metaphor for relationships that intertwine, recompose, and strengthen over time. The work, moreover, refers to the human-nature dynamic: in this case, the thread represents the silk obtained from an empty cocoon that, with human intervention by the artist, is now reassembled. The choice of blue plastic is made to highlight the reunion, and the use of iron to build a minimal structure refers to the tension between protection and fragility, safety and uncertainty.

Federica Gottardello explores the fragility of connections through a reflection on the figure of the peacock: the train, composed of eyes, symbolizes the multiplicity of gazes in relations. The work Cent’occhi is composed of a long peacock’s tail that extends into space and becomes an act of active participation in the surrounding environment, connecting the viewer to a process of observation, appearance, and construction of the self. The peacock, a symbol of vanity but also of fragile and complex beauty, becomes the emblem of a relationship that is built through time, with patience and care, but is always ephemeral and potentially subject to disintegration. The thread, in this case, is both medium and message: an act of weaving that, in its perfection, encapsulates the precariousness of every human bond. For Orditure, the work is complemented by Cent’occhi – osservano: eyes scattered throughout the exhibition hall, discreet or indiscreet, observing from different angles, weaving an environment of crossed gazes, of imaginary warps, from which a dialogue arises with the environment and with the other artists, the other works, and the public.

Davide Nitti, in Dodici connessioni, investigates the space-body relationship through performance, which takes on the meaning of a critical reflection on the role of consumption in education and artistic research. In his work, threads are created from the receipts he has conserved over the years, symbolizing the artist’s daily experience of consumption and the need to maintain him. He thus gives life to a net that wraps the body and connects it to the “body” of the gallery, to its walls. The performance analyzes the concepts of “support” and “constraint”, revealing how the artistic-cultural structures that accommodate and support the artists can foster but also limit the freedom of the individual. The body becomes part of an entanglement that also involves gallery owners, curators, and other artists, all of whom are protagonists in the act of creating the physical and metaphorical bond with the exhibition space.



Laura Angela Gelsomini was born in Valle Trompia (Brescia) in 2001, where she currently lives and works. The artist holds a bachelor’s degree in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona and is currently enrolled in a master’s course in Criminology at Euroinnova. Notable is her solo exhibition Quando la parola viene a mancare at Numa Contemporary, which opened in Vicenza in November 2024.

Federica Gottardello was born in Brescia in 2000. She currently lives and studies in Venice. The artist received a bachelor’s degree in Painting from the Venice Academy of Fine Arts in 2022 and is in the process of obtaining a master’s degree at the same Academy. Notable achievements include third place at the 106th and 105th Collettiva Giovani Artisti of the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation. In October 2024, she exhibited at the Comunità di Saperi exhibition of the National Arts Prize in Catania.

Davide Nitti was born in Bari in 1997. He currently lives and studies in Turin. The artist received a bachelor’s degree in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona and is continuing his studies, also in Sculpture, at the Albertina Academy in Turin. Exhibitions he has participated in over the past year include TAZ – Temporary Artistic Zone in an abandoned building near the Monumental Cemetery in Turin, and the collective action Lettera d’artista per demilitarizzare il mondo with the R(e)o Dada Crew.

WAC – collettivo per l’arte is a collective of emerging curators that was founded in Trento in 2023 with the desire to offer a space for expression and reflection in the contemporary art scene. WAC is founded on principles of union, respect, and exchange of ideas that allow a heterogeneous group, with diverse backgrounds and inclinations, to engage in a fruitful and generative confrontation, with the aim of presenting itself as a point of encounter and exchange between differentiated artistic practices, promoting young and emerging artists who wish to give voice to contemporary languages capable of questioning and innovating the visual arts scene.
