Venerdì 25 ottobre, alle ore 18.00, Boccanera Gallery apre la stagione espositiva a Trento con la seconda personale di Linda Carrara (1984, Bergamo) negli spazi espositivi in Via Alto Adige 176.

Boccanera Gallery presenta così la più recente ricerca pittorica della giovane artista, un lavoro mirato al superamento delle funzionalità rappresentative della pittura, dove essa diventa il soggetto nascosto dei suoi lavori, poiché mezzo che garantisce proprietà divergenti rispetto alla realtà. Le immagini di Linda sono caratterizzate da una sintassi instabile e libera, in cui trovano posto silenziosi smarrimenti poetici e reali contraddizioni prospettiche.

Chôra è il titolo della mostra curata da Giuseppe Frangi, un termine tratto dal Timeo di Platone che indica quello spazio, per certi versi indicibile, in cui la forma dispiega la propria azione. Con un gioco di parole: è lo spazio della forma in “formazione”. Ed è proprio nel concetto di formazione, della materia, di un ipotetico paesaggio o della pittura stessa, che la Carrara si destreggia e abita, mostrandoci una serie di opere che tendono all’idea di luogo e paesaggio nel quale lo spettatore sarà invitato a camminare.
Un titolo che vuole definire la ricerca dell’artista, una ricerca scaturita da un’attrazione, anzi, da una sorta di magnetismo: quello che porta la tela a farsi involucro della forma che poi la abiterà. Liberare la pittura dall’intenzionalità significa spingerla, quasi stressarla, perché sempre più si pieghi a farsi pelle del reale, a farsi lei stessa cosa e non solo rappresentazione della cosa. Chôra descrive la ragione profonda di questo schiacciarsi sul soggetto, di questo annullamento di ogni distanza.

On Friday, October 25th, at 6 pm, Boccanera Gallery opens the exhibition season in Trento with the second solo show of Linda Carrara (1984, Bergamo) in Via Alto Adige 176.

Boccanera Gallery presents the young artist’s most recent pictorial research, a work aimed at overcoming the representative functions of painting, where it becomes the hidden subject of her works, as a mean that guarantees properties that differ from reality. Linda’s images are characterized by an unstable and free syntax, in which silent poetic disorientate and real perspective contradictions find their place.

Chôra is the title of the exhibition curated by Giuseppe Frangi, a term taken from Plato’s Timeo that indicates the space, in some ways unspeakable, in which the form unfolds its action. With a play on word: it is the space of the form in “formation”. And it is precisely in the concept of formation, of matter, of a hypothetical landscape or of painting itself that Carrara alters and inhabits, showing us a series of works that bend to the idea of a place and a landscape in which the viewer will be invited to walk.
A title that wants to define the artist’s research, a research that comes from an attraction, or rather, from a sort of magnetism: the one that leads the canvas to become the shell of the form that will then inhabit it. Freeing painting from intentionality means pushing it, almost stressing it, so that it increasingly bends to become the skin of reality, to become itself a thing and not just a representation of a thing. Chôra describes the profound reason for this crushing on the subject, this cancellation of all distance.
