Boccanera Gallery Milano ha il piacere di presentare la preview MyNameIsAndreaFontanari con l’artista Andrea Fontanari.
Boccanera apre la stagione espositiva a Milano con una preview della prima mostra personale assoluta di Andrea Fontanari che si terrà da Boccanera Gallery a Trento nel 2020.
Andrea Fontanari si presenta. Ci dice di entrare nel suo mondo. Tele di grandi dimensioni, di ampie pennellate che tagliano la realtà. Andrea ci porta nella sua quotidianità, ma che è quella di noi tutti. Uno spazio, un dettaglio che ravvicina, che aggiunge nei colori ma toglie complessità non necessarie.
Nel progetto espositivo si intende dar voce alla sua profonda intimità del gesto, che ci porta a fermare il nostro sguardo verso una famigliarità persa, un gesto nudo che fa riscoprire la nostra umanità. Un dipinto che non vuole essere una quinta teatrale verso il mondo, ma una pittura che ci porta verso noi stessi. Non c’è malinconia, c’è voglia di raccontare la meraviglia del nostro interiore, toccare con mano il profondo della nostra intimità.
Una pittura elegante, lontana dall’immaginario italiano, che riporta a un’America lontana, dai colori del cinema. Seguendo una tradizione della pittura contemporanea (da Hockney a Fischl, da Baselitz a Guttuso), Andrea Fontanari ha vissuto in quelle stanze, ha dormito in quel letto, ha osservato quelle scale, ha lasciato questi luoghi, li ha dipinti in atelier e vi ritorna con pitture che partono da un intento iper-realistico e, lavorando per sottrazione, ci lasciano alla natura della luce e del colore, scarnificate, nello sbiadire del sogno.

Boccanera Gallery opens the season in Milan with the Preview of the first solo exhibition by Andrea Fontanari, that will take place at Boccanera Gallery, Trento in 2020.
Andrea Fontanari introduces himself. He tells us to enter his world made of big canvases, broad brushstrokes that cut reality into pieces. Andrea takes us into his daily life, in those gestures that we see every day. The way he paints and the colours want to create a new vision but, at the same time, they remove unnecessary complexity.
The deep intimacy of our actions takes voice in the exhibition project: leading us to look at a lost familiarity, a naked gesture that makes us discover our forgotten humanity. Space and details make us think about a familiar story. The paintings do not want to be theatrical but lead us to ourselves. There is no melancholy; there is the desire to tell the wonder of our interior, touching with our hand the depths of our intimacy.
An elegant painting, far from the Italian imaginary, that brings back to a faraway America, with the colours of the cinema. Following a tradition of contemporary painters (from Hockney to Fischl, from Baselitz to Guttuso) Andrea Fontanari lived in those rooms, slept in that bed, observed those stairs, left these places, painted them in the atelier, and gave back images that start from a hyper-realistic intent but work by subtraction. Those images give us the feeling of the lights, and the colour brings us in fading dreams.
