Richard Loskot nasce a Most (CZ) nel 1984, vive e lavora a Usti nad Labem (CZ).
Richard Loskot was born in Most (CZ) in 1984; he lives and works in Usti nad Labem (CZ).
He obtained a degree in Visual Communication at the University of Liberec and specialized at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He exhibited in Germany, the UK, Romania, Czech Republic, and Slovakia. In 2012 and 2014, he was one of the five finalists of the most prestigious prize in the Czech Republic, the Jindřich Chalupecký prize. In 2014, he participated in the International Studio & Curatorial Program residence in New York. In September 2104, he was part of the exhibition Europe, Europe, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist, Thomas Boutoux, Gunnar B. Kvaran at Astrup Fearnley Museet in Oslo.
The pieces of works of Richard Loskot reveal intently various physical, mental and symbolic attribute of the time-space reality. To express his ideas, he is using several current technologies, which are not only used as tools – the unveiled technical aspect of his work becomes the new fully-fledged semantic level. The range of Loskot’s production includes sound installations, different simulations of natural phenomena – whether the biological growth or sound and light space conditions, and the reflection of the achievement of civilization, as radio communication or earthly way of time measurement, seemingly indisputable. In spite of this technological orientation, Richard Loskot’s installations may surprise by their aesthetic intuition and premeditated work with the particular space, its impact on the senses is somewhere between sci-fi and thoughtful metaphysics.
UAII Studio
In 2018, Richard Loskot and Rozárka Jiráková founded the UAII studio focused on environment creation. "UAII" roars Tracy's tiger in the novel written by William Saroyan when he sees something beautiful and exciting. UAII are the letters representing art, architecture, intervention. UAII is an association of artists, architects, and technicians oriented for experimental spatial creation and processing of complex environments.
A holistic approach to design and the use of new technologies play a crucial role, but it doesn't forget to work with the simple physical world. UAII is an altruistic effort to improve the environment around us. At the center of UAII's work stands the viewer, human, animal, or plant.
