ARTISSIMA – TORINO IT
October 30 – November 8, 2026
Sezione DIALOGUE DIALOGUE Section

ARTISTS: YIRUI FANG, ANDREA FONTANARI

For the Dialogue section of Artissima 2026, Boccanera Gallery presents a radical reflection on painting, conceived as a critical device and a language capable of reshaping how we see and inhabit the present. Painting emerges here as an organic body, elastic, and ever-evolving body, as well as a critical space in which the fancy – as described by Martha C. Nussbaum – finds one of its most compelling expressions. Rather than a static, two-dimensional medium, it unfolds as a layered field of visions and memories that continually challenge and reconfigure perception.
Boccanera Gallery brings together Andrea Fontanari (Trento, IT, 1996) and Yirui Fang (Shan Dong, CN, 1997) in a two-voice dialogue, where their practices converge in a shared exploration of the expressive potential of the image and of art history. Their works weave together heterogeneous and even contradictory elements, setting images, memories, and imagination into relation. The result is a dynamic, generative balance in which the visible and the imagined, gesture and thought, remain in constant negotiation.

ROMA ARTE IN NUVOLA – ROMA IT
20 – 22 November, 2026
Sezione su invito a cura di Pier Paolo Pancotto Invited Section curated by Pier Paolo Pancotto

ARTISTS: DIANA APARO, GABRIELE GRONES, DEBORA HIRSCH

For its first participation in Roma Arte in Nuvola 2026, Boccanera Gallery has been invited by Pier Paolo Pancotto to take part in a special section curated by him, conceived as an independent exhibition project within the fair, separate from the traditional gallery booths.
The gallery presents works by Diana Aparo (Verona, IT, 1994), Gabriele Grones (Arabba, IT, 1983) and Debora Hirsch (San Paolo, BR, 1967), three artists whose individual practices reflect distinct sensibilities and approaches to contemporary art.
The project unfolds over three days through an evolving exhibition format: three days, three artists, three different installations. Each day, one work by each artist will be presented, bringing together a total of nine works over the course of the fair. This dynamic exhibition approach offers visitors a renewed experience each day, highlighting the distinctive character of each artistic practice while creating new connections and opportunities for dialogue between the works.
This participation reflects Boccanera Gallery’s commitment to supporting independent artistic practices and fostering opportunities for exchange and dialogue among artists, curators, collectors, and institutions.
